Brush Dump:

Chances are that you have a home, yard or garden, and are generating yard waste. Grass clippings, leaves, tree limbs are all considered yard waste. Properly disposing of yard waste saves space in landfills, reduces the amount of greenhouse gasses produced, and promotes the use of renewable resources.

Curbside Pick-Up :

The Village of Bluffton offers curbside yard waste pick up every Wednesday. Please use the following guidelines to help make this program run efficiently:

* You must live in The Village of Bluffton limits.

* All leaves and grass clippings should be in paper bags or in containers.

* All curbside yard waste should be ready for pick up by 7:00AM on Wednesdays.

* All limbs should be manageable with a maximum length of 8' and 6" in diameter.

* All yard waste should be in the tree lawn or edge of the road, please do not place yard waste in alleys.

* In the event of inclement weather, holidays, or an emergency the village will resume pick up of yard waste the next business day.

* Live Christmas Trees will be picked up after Christmas. Please be sure all lights, decorations, bases and protective bags are removed and place the tree by the curb for pick up.

Leaf Pick-Up:

* The Village of Bluffton picks up leaves every fall. The village works to get all leaves picked up in a timely fashion. In 2019 the village picked up 68 loads of leaves, this is about 1200 cubic yards of leaves. As a resident you can help make the leaf pick up process smoother by using the following guide lines:

* Place leaves in long narrow rows at the back side of the curb

* All other yard waste should be seperated from the leaves

What Yard Waste is Accepted? :

What Yard Waste is NOT Accepted? :

* food * pet waste * dirt * rocks * plastic or plastic bags * sod

Yard waste can be dropped off at 455 N. Spring Street. When dropping off your yard waste please use the guidelines from above and dispose of in the designated area.

What happens to all of the yard waste?:

Annually the village contracts to have the yard waste processed into mulch. The Village of Bluffton offers the processed mulch to village residents at no charge. You can pick up mulch at the village maintenance garage at 455 N. Spring Street.
