Village of Bluffton - Regular meeting June 24, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.

 

Mayor Johnson presiding. Messrs: Cupples, Sehlhorst, Steiner and Kingsley present. 

 

Cupples motioned, seconded by Kingsley, to approve the minutes from the regular council meeting held on June 10, 2019.  Roll Call: Yes (4) Messrs: Cupples, Sehlhorst, Kingsley, and Steiner.  No (0), Abstain (0), motion approved. 

 

Steiner motioned, seconded by Sehlhorst, to approve the bills as presented.  Roll Call: Yes (4) Messrs: Cupples, Sehlhorst, Kingsley, and Steiner.  No (0), Abstain (0), motion approved. 

 

The fiscal officer gave the following readings:

 

3rd Reading:

Ordinance 04-19 - An Ordinance permitting the sale of four properties currently owned by the Village of Bluffton.  Sehlhorst motioned to adopt the reading, seconded by Cupples.  Roll Call: Yes (4) Messrs: Cupples, Sehlhorst, Kingsley, and Steiner.  No (0), Abstain (0), motion approved. 

 

Fire Chief Jon Kinn discussed signing a one-year mutual aid agreement with Columbus Grove and that at the next meeting a resolution would need to be read concerning the Allen County dispatch contract. 

 

The Mayor presented a letter to council from the Bluffton Garden Club requesting a sign, costing no more than $150.00 be purchased by the Village and placed in memory of Willie Brewster.  Cupples motioned to approve the purchase and placement of the sign, seconded by Kingsley.  Roll Call: Yes (4) Messrs: Cupples, Sehlhorst, Kingsley, and Steiner.  No (0), Abstain (0), motion approved. 

 

Kingsley motioned to hold an executive session for personnel which would include the Solicitor, Mayor, Council and Administrator, and an executive session for legal matters which would include the Solicitor, Mayor, Council, Administrator and Assistant Administrator.  Roll Call: Yes (4) Messrs: Cupples, Sehlhorst, Kingsley, and Steiner.  No (0), Abstain (0), motion approved. 

 

Kingsley motioned to adjourn the executive session and return to the regular meeting.

 

Cupples motioned to adjourn the regular council meeting, seconded by Kingsley.

 

The following meetings/events were included on the agenda and/or scheduled during the meeting:

 

Ordinance Committee – Wednesday June 26 at 5:30pm

Utility Committee – Thursday June 27 at 4:00pm

Street Committee – Thursday June 27 at 5:30pm

Personnel Committee – Wednesday July 3 at Noon

Council Meeting – Monday, July 8 at 7:00pm
